T.G.I.F. It's Friday and I love Friday's because the weekend is here and Brian gets to be home. Today Lynzi got her contacts. She had a bit of a struggle getting them in, but she was amazed at how good she could see!!!
Tonight we had a ward party for Melissa Belnaps final young woman project. We watched a movie of all the activities that we did during the past year. We have a great ward and are lucky to live around wonderful people!

10 pounds thinner...10 years younger

Today I went to Shambree to get my hair cut and colored. I gave Shambree the job of making me look 10 pounds thinner and 10 years younger. She does such a great job...I think she works magic!

Points Up

Today I went to Snowcrest to pass out ice cream to the kids who raised their GPA. Here is a picture of Lynzi, McKell, & Bailey. Cute girls.

Wednesday Work Day

Today was a good work day. I thought I would show a few of the people that I work with and where I work. I am lucky to work just one day a week. Dr. Call is such a great doctor!!! He is very kind to let me work on Wednesdays. I get to keep up my license and stay current with my nursing skills. I am truly blessed.

I get the opportunity of serving in the young women with these three ladies. It has been really great getting to know each of them better. Julie Lund is the President, Anne Scott is the 1st Counselor, and Willow Buttars is the Secretary. We are making these cute hair clips for the girls this year. We had quite the experience getting these brads to put onto the bobby pin. We were going to make fabric covered buttons but decided they would be too expensive. I had gone shopping at Hobby Lobby on Saturday and found these brads at 50% off. On Sunday I spoke with Julie and we decided to go and get the brads on Monday. I called the store on Monday morning and they told me the brads were not on sale any longer. So we decided to print a bunch of 40% off coupons and go in and get them. The only problem was that we could each only use 1 coupon and only buy 1 at a time. So 10 trips to Hobby Lobby were on each of our list. Mason Harrop was going to Logan so we asked him to stop there. The Logan store let Mason pick up the 27 packages from their store at 50% off. The Layton store made us pick up the rest of the packages one day and one person at a time. The moral of the story...shop the Hobby Lobby in Logan and not Layton!!!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR!!!!

It's official I am done with winter!!! Since I live in Liberty, mother nature is not done yet so the best I can do is put the snowmen away and bring the Valentine decorations out. I love red!! It really is my favorite color and it makes me smile. So... goodbye snomwen and hello LOVE!

GAME DAY

One of my favorite things to do is to play games with my family. I like to learn new games and play the favorites over and over again. I asked each person in my family their top 3 favorite games:
Allyson: Balderdash, Moviestar Game and 5 crowns
Karlee: Spy Alley, Imaginiff, 5 crowns
Lynzi: Blokus, Qwirkle, Balderdash
Dustin: 5 crowns, Aggravation, Spy Alley
Brian: Canasta, Oh HECK, Ticket to Ride
Mitzi: I like them all but I chose ones that weren't chosen before. Speed Scrabble, Chicken Scratch, and Imaginiff

Just Add Snow!!!

It has been snowing for two days straight. The valley is absolutely beautiful. Snowmen seem to bring a smile to my face so I thought today was the perfect snowman building day. Lynzi, Dustin and I made this snowman, not the best snowman snow but it was still fun!!

CLOSET CLEANING

Today, thanks to Meagan, I decided to clean out our closet. Oh my, what a project. It feels so much better to have it done but while I was in the process it was not so much fun. We filled 12 garbage bags for the DI and 3 for the garbage. I don't think I will let it go so long before I clean it again.

January visiting teaching message is on becoming Self reliant. I think that if we are self reliant, we are prepared to be the best that we can be. We are able to help others and ourselves if we are self reliant. That is the goal!

Ann teaching her creative photo display class. She is such a talented person, I am thankful I know her!!

Yesterday our internet was down because of the snow. I had a snuggle in kind of day. So today I have four pictures to post. I went visiting teaching and this was the handout I gave. I went to Ann's house where she was teaching creative ways to display pictures. I also looked through some magazines and found a little quiz that I am going to randomly do each month. Fun times!!

Karlee and her FISH!!!

Karlee got answered to the Sweetheart Dance today. Yes, once again she got answered with fish. I don't quite know why we get the fish as a lovely keepsake but we now have two fish. Lynzi had to get them out of the bathtub since that was where her answer was found. She got led to her answer by a trail of Swedish Fish. FUN TIMES!

I am so thankful for my Dad!!!

I can't count how many times my Dad has come to my rescue. Today we got a snowstorm and I couldn't get the snowblower started. My Dad came right up and plowed us out with his tractor. I am truly blessed to have a wonderful Dad and that I get to live so close to my parents.

Cross Country Skiing

Today we went to Kamas and went cross country skiing. Darla and Kelly found this spot a few years ago and we have gone skiing up there each year. It is very pretty up there.

Snowman Craft

While we were at Park City, we got together and painted some snowmen to hang on our doors. Fun Times!

1st Indoor Race of 2010

We went to BYU from Park City and Allyson and Karlee both ran the mile. They were seated in different races. Karlee had an awesome race and took 3rd. Allyson's race was not so great...but good experience none-the-less.

January 15....365 begins

Today we went to Park City for our annual trip. The kids LOVE to go to Park City, these are the beds that we slept in.

Ok, so the first two weeks in January I decided it was time to lose some serious weight, so I joined a diet group and went on the South Beach diet. This was oh so difficult for me. I decided that it wasn't for me so I changed to this LDS diet that is much easier for me. I am supposed to lose 1-2 pounds a week, we'll see how this goes!

Young Women Party

I had a bunch of my young women come to breakfast to catch up. I sure do love these girls!!! We were able to catch up and it is so good to see them all doing so well. People who came...Lynette Oberg, Cindy Baker, Karen Wright and Me.. Hayley Montgomery, Morgan Hogge, Heather Wadman, Angela Baker, Cierra Morby, Brooke Baugh, Allyson, Karlee. Fun times. The girls took some pictures so I will see if they will send them to me.

Project 365

It is now 2010 and I have a new goal. I am going to take a picture every day and blog about it. I figure this is a good way to journal and keep track of what I do throughout the year. I am working on getting my Personal Progress award and this is one of my projects. I think it will be fun to see how my "blogging" improves over the year. I am a BEGINNER (to say the least) so here's to learning something new.

New Years Eve....we went to the Hansen's house and had Chinese new year. They had their house all decorated fun. We ate and then went Cross Country Skiing. It was a Blue Moon and so it was bright outside. I thought it was fun to go in the dark. After skiing we played some games, when the new year came the kids ran barefoot to the end of their driveway. CRAZY!! This was a fun way to bring in 2010.
